    Recommendations Based QoS Trust Aggregation and Routing in Mobile Adhoc Networks

    In mobile adhoc netwotk (MANET), a node’s quality of service (QoS) trust represents how much it is reliable in quality. QoS trust of a node is computed based on its multiple quality parameters and it is an interesting and challenging area in MANETs. In this work, QoS trust is evaluated by taking into consideration quality parameters like node residual energy, bandwidth and mobility. The proposed method “Recommendations Based QoS Trust Aggregation and Routing in Mobile Adhoc Networks-QTAR” is a frame work. Where the trust is established through four phases like QoS trust computation, aggregation, propagation and routing. The Dempster Shafer Theory (DST) is used for aggregation of trust recommendations. In the network, trust information is propagated through HELLO packets. Each node stores the QoS trust information of other nodes in the form of trust matrices. We applied matrix algebra operations on trust matrices for route establishment from source to destination. The time and space complexity of proposed method is discussed theoretically. The simulation is conducted for the varying of node velocity and network size, where the proposed method shown considerable improvement over existing protocols

    A New Method of User Association in Wireless Mesh Networks

    The IEEE 802.11 based wireless mesh networks (WMNs) are becoming the promising technology to provide last-mile broadband Internet access to the users. In order to access the Internet through the pre-deployed WMN, the user has to associate with one of the access points (APs) present in the network. In WMN, it is very common that the user device can have multiple APs in its vicinity. Since the user performance majorly depends on the associated AP, how to select the best AP is always remaining as a challenging research problem in WMN. The traditional method of AP selection is based on received signal strength (RSS) and it is proven inefficient in the literature as the method does not consider AP load, channel conditions, etc. This paper proposes a new method of user association in WMN such that the user selects the AP based on achievable end-to-end throughput measured in the presence of other interfering APs. The proposed association metric is independent of routing protocol and routing metric used in WMN. The simulation results show that our method outperforms the RSS based AP selection method in WMN

    Reliable Fault Tolerance System for Service Composition in Mobile Ad Hoc Network

    A Due to the rapid development of smart processing mobile devices, Mobile applications are exploring the use of web services in MANETs to satisfy the user needs. Complex user needs are satisfied by the service composition where a complex service is created by combining one or more atomic services. Service composition has a significant challenge in MANETs due to its limited bandwidth, constrained energy sources, dynamic node movement and often suffers from node failures. These constraints increase the failure rate of service composition. To overcome these, we propose Reliable Fault Tolerant System for Service Composition in MANETs (RFTSC) which makes use of the checkpointing technique for service composition in MANETs. We propose fault policies for each fault in service composition when the faults occur. Failure of services in the service composition process is recovered locally by making use of Checkpointing system and by using discovered services which satisfies the QoS constraints. A Multi-Service Tree (MST) is proposed to recover failed services with O(1) time complexity. Simulation result shows that the proposed approach is efficient when compared to existing approaches

    A Dynamic Proxy Oriented Approach for Remote Data Integrity checking along with Secure Deduplication in Cloud

    In Cloud computing users store data over remote servers instead of computer�s hard drive. This leads to several security problems since data is out of the control of the user. So, to protect against the security attacks and to preserve the data integrity in the cloud, Huaqun Wang et.al proposed proxy oriented remote data integrity checking (RDIC). However, this scheme only focuses on one-way validation i.e clients have to know whether their files are stored integrally in the cloud. But this scheme does not address the problem of duplication which is essential with increasing demand for cloud storage. And as users are untrusted from the perspective of the server, there is a need to prove the ownership of the files. The proposed work considers the requirement of mutual validation. In this paper we propose a new construction of Identity based RDIC along with secure deduplication. The proposed scheme avoids burden of complex key management and flexible as it support anyone to verify the contents of the data apart from the data owner and incurs less computation cost as token generation is done by the proxy instead of user

    A Hybrid Modified Ant Colony Optimization - Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm for Optimal Node Positioning and Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks

    Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been widely deployed in hostile locations for environmental monitoring. Sensor placement and energy management are the two main factors that should be focused due to certain limitations in WSNs. The nodes in a sensor network might not stay charged when energy draining takes place; therefore, increasing the operational lifespan of the network is the primary purpose of energy management. Recently, major research interest in WSN has been focused with the essential aspect of localization. Several types of research have also taken place on the challenges of node localization of wireless sensor networks with the inclusion of range-free and range-based localization algorithms. In this work, the optimal positions of Sensor Nodes (SNs) are determined by proposing a novel Hybrid M-ACO – PSO (HMAP) algorithm. In the HMAP method, the improved PSO utilizes learning strategies for estimating the relay nodes\u27 optimal positions. The M-ACO assures the data conveyance. A route discovers when it relates to the ideal route irrespective of the possibility of a system that includes the nodes with various transmission ranges, and the network lifetime improves. The proposed strategy is executed based on the energy, throughput, delivery ratio, overhead, and delay of the information packets

    XVI Agricultural Science Congress 2023: Transformation of Agri-Food Systems for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals

    The XVI Agricultural Science Congress being jointly organized by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) during 10-13 October 2023, at hotel Le Meridien, Kochi, is a mega event echoing the theme “Transformation of Agri-Food Systems for achieving Sustainable Development Goals”. ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute takes great pride in hosting the XVI ASC, which will be the perfect point of convergence of academicians, researchers, students, farmers, fishers, traders, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders involved in agri-production systems that ensure food and nutritional security for a burgeoning population. With impeding challenges like growing urbanization, increasing unemployment, growing population, increasing food demands, degradation of natural resources through human interference, climate change impacts and natural calamities, the challenges ahead for India to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out by the United Nations are many. The XVI ASC will provide an interface for dissemination of useful information across all sectors of stakeholders invested in developing India’s agri-food systems, not only to meet the SDGs, but also to ensure a stable structure on par with agri-food systems around the world. It is an honour to present this Book of Abstracts which is a compilation of a total of 668 abstracts that convey the results of R&D programs being done in India. The abstracts have been categorized under 10 major Themes – 1. Ensuring Food & Nutritional Security: Production, Consumption and Value addition; 2. Climate Action for Sustainable Agri-Food Systems; 3. Frontier Science and emerging Genetic Technologies: Genome, Breeding, Gene Editing; 4. Livestock-based Transformation of Food Systems; 5. This Book of Abstracts sets the stage for the mega event itself, which will see a flow of knowledge emanating from a zeal to transform and push India’s Agri-Food Systems to perform par excellence and achieve not only the SDGs of the UN but also to rise as a world leader in the sector.     SMART WORMS DEFENSE AND DETECTION

    There are several worm attacks in the recent years, this leads to an essentiality of producing new detection technique for worm attacks. In this paper we present a spectrum based smart worm detection scheme, this is based on the idea of detection of worm in the frequency domain. This scheme uses the power spectral density of the scan traffic volume and its corresponding flatness measure to distinguish the smart worm traffic from background traffic. This scheme showed better results against the smart worms and also for the c-worm detection
